Northern Light

PCN/FA and members of the network in northern Canada have started an exciting new project: Northern Light. Together we will build support for young women’s leadership in northern and remote communities. Partners will offer local training and mentorship for young women, we will create a ‘zine on northern young women’s involvement in their communities, and we will pull together research and resources that organizers can use to support their local projects.

This is the start of an initiative that we hope to keep growing over the next few years! Our partners so far in the project are Leaping Feats (Whitehorse, YT) and the Centre for Northern Families (Yellowknife, NT), Inuvik Youth Centre (Inuvik, NT), Wemindji Gathering Place (Wemindji,
QC), and the Cambridge Bay Wellness Centre (Cambridge Bay, NU).

PCN/FA est en train de mettre sur pied un réseau de personnes qui ont à cœur le bien-être des filles et des jeunes femmes du Grand Nord. Ce projet excitant, intitulé "Northern Light", est élaboré en collaboration avec des partenaires qui offriront de la formation et opportunités de mentorat pour les filles et jeunes femmes du Nord. Nous créerons également un zine et allons mettre en commun recherche et ressources afin que les organisatrices locales obtiennent du soutien pour leurs divers projets.

Ce projet est une initiative toute jeune que nous désirons voir grandir au cours des prochaines années.
