Mandate
Kickaction is an online community space for girls and young women who think for themselves, take a stand and act creatively to bring positive change to their communities and across the globe. The site provides a space to connect with others, access resources, profile creative work, and find inspiration to change the world.
Our vision is to build a community of active and engaged girls and young women across the country. In addition to the website, we also collaborate with community organizations and mentors to bring hands-on media arts training programs to girls.
Objectives:
- Create an on-line community of girls and young women acting for social change
- Celebrate and promote girls and young women who are engaged in community action across Canada
- Provide opportunities to girls and young women, particularly those from underrepresented communities, to build their skills in media production, technical literacy, and community project organizing
