projet l

L Project – Leadership Building for Young Women is a training for 20 young women, ages 16-24, from across Canada. L Project is for young women who are passionate about an issue in their community and want to learn the skills to get involved in making a difference. For 7 days, 20 girls from across the country will be getting together to do activities and workshops about how to organize, plan events, talk to the media, report on projects, change policies and change their world! Afterward, we will be participating in PCN/FA’s National Network Retreat, where we will do skill-building workshops, intergenerational networking, sharing projects and knowledge and more!

Join the Revolution

So, it's been roughly one year since my roommate became obsessed with the ominously named THE PAPER CUP ARMY. I can't really explain what happened there, it wasn't my obsession. All I know is one day I came home and my roommate had started a collection of used paper cups and was storing them in our small two bedroom basement apartment. She's an artist, so I look online and find pictures on her facebook of little cups with word bubbles.

Vancouver to Ottawa by bike.

It's going to be epic.

This summer, a team of motivated and energetic young people, aged 18 to 30, will set off on a cycling and performing tour of epic proportions.  You can be one of them.  Combine activism, sustainable living, community building, theatre, leadership training and bicycle touring on an Otesha Project bike tour. Watch this video to see what going on tour is like.

Call for submissions for book: Feminist education now: youth, activism, and intersectionality

Where is feminist education today? This is a question many people are asking, and I’d like to answer them in a book I’m putting together. Where do young people get to learn about feminism? And what the heck does feminism even mean to young people today

Celebration and Resistance

For the first time in years I am positively excited about this ridiculous holiday known as "christmas". Seriously, I am as giddy as a three year old, and I think this is absolutely fantastic. Let me explain:

Sixth graders Vs. Toys r us in the sexist toy showdown.
